Art Blast April - Holmes Incorporated
Ty teaches at Comic Book Bootcamps here in Toronto. His classes are a great way to learn more about comic creation, and Ty is a fantastic teacher! Graduates of the classes were published in the Holmes Incorporated comics, and this page was my favorite from all the art I contributed to it.

Art Blast April - War on Drugs
This War on Drugs strip is one where my art finally did Alan Grant's scripts some justice. The only thing I wish had been done differently is the grey on Johnny's teeth in the last panel. It looks like he has badly coffee stained teeth!
Who knows? Perhaps he does.

Art Blast April - Undertow #3 cover
Continuing along with art that I'm really fond of, brings up the Cover to Undertow #3 today.
This was inked by Guillermo Ortego, and colored by Greg Harms.
The Organ Grinder feature in the Undertow is an ongoing story that has been in issues #1thru #5. A five page preview can be found here, and you can order them all (physical issues or download on Comixology) by moseying on over to the 7th wave publishing website here.

Art Blast April - Wolverine and the Eiffel Tower from Gutters
Art blast April rolls along here again! I've cracked open the vault (a.k.a. recently found an old hard drive I'd misplaced) to bring recent viewers and twitter folks some of MY favorite pieces
of art that I've done over the years.
Today we have the infamous 'Eiffel Tower' strip for the Gutters, written by Ryan Sohmer.
I went a bit extra cartoony on this -given the content- and it went over quite well. Ryan once told me it was the best selling print they had at Gutters, so that's pretty cool.

Art Blast April - Roza and Shard
These are Curt Sibling's Characters, and colors over my pencils and inks.
I really liked his coloring job on this one.

Art Blast April - 8 Ball from Heroes of the North
8 ball has a cool costume, tons of weapons and holsters with pockets and bags, all of which are fun to draw. Once of many pages I've done for Heroes of the North comics and Trade paperbacks.
My pencils and inks on this one.

Art Blast April - War on Drugs, a.k.a my first published work
I probably SHOULD have started Art blast April with this, but I didn't, because that would require being much better organized than I currently am. ;-)
This is my FIRST published page, and the one that started it all. The importance of seeing this published in Northern Lightz at the time ( over 10 years ago!) cant be overstated. I was thrilled! I felt like I had finally made it, and resolved then and there that I would be a professional comic artist.
I was very lucky to have Gary Erskine ink this one, and he did me a lot of favors. He basically re-drew the helicopter in the big panel, as the one I had sent in was pretty weak by comparison. Alan Grant wrtoe this one and it marks the first appearance of 'Johnny K' from the War on Drugs, which went on to run in 2 magazines over in the U.K.

Art Blast April - Judge Dredd
April marks the 6th Birthday of this blog. In order to celebrate, and save folks having to go though all those old posts, I decided to have an 'art blast April' here on the blog! My goal here is to bring recent viewers and twitter folks some of my favorite pieces of art that I've done over the years. I'll update this every few days for the month of April...I hope you enjoy.
First up is a Judge Dredd piece that I did with inker extraordinaire Guillermo Ortego.
It was colored by Guillem Mari, whose colors look amazing once printed. (they look pretty awesome to me her too, dont get me wrong!)
Working on a Judge Dredd Story for Rebellion remains one of my career goals. Its definitely on my bucket list
